Counting the Toys | Internship at Hasbro

Counting the Toys

I really appreciated the opportunity to serve as an intern in the International Taxation Department at Hasbro Inc. From the time I began way back in March (pre-pandemic), I have felt welcomed and valued. I really enjoyed the initial tour of the toy design labs, and especially the walk down memory lane where Hasbro showcases the history of their brands. Learning the backstory of Monopoly, Play-Doh, and Mr. Potato Head was very interesting.

The collaborative aspect of the project teams was very impressive. In fact, that culture of collaboration carried all the way down the street to the Taxation Department. Every member of The Tax Team was willing to help and provide clarification so that I could be successful on the projects I was assigned. I am grateful for the exposure I was given to all accounting principles and practices used in international taxation.

The biggest take away from my internship at Hasbro Inc. is not so much the accounting or the strong work ethic but the concept of making sure to have a little fun and a laugh along the way. The weekly remote game shows the company put together during quarantine was a lot of fun and gave us the opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues from other offices. Thank you, Hasbro for the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and laugh.
