My first day of orientation and I still couldn’t believe that I was starting my job at Hasbro, when about three weeks before, I was prepared to go back to school for the second semester of my sophomore year. My nerves were through the roof. I didn’t know what to expect, and thus was a little afraid of the journey I was about to embark upon. As I stepped in the building, I met many other co-ops, learned their home institutions, and even a little more about some of them. I could not wait for day two, which was more orientation and continuing to learn about the Hasbro brands and company culture. I was able to connect with my manager to speak more about my position and prepare myself for what’s to come. By day three I met more people in my department. After my first week at Hasbro, I feel like I know everything and nothing at the same time. Overall, I am really enjoying the work that I’m doing and everyone who works here is extremely kind and helpful. Coming off a tough semester at RPI, this is a refreshing break from the daily grind of studying something that may seem like it has no intended purpose. Even though this is far from my field of study, I’m learning so much about relationships, professionalism, corporate work, and entertainment. I am truly excited for the next six months and I cannot wait to see how I can impact the brands I am working on.
