Hi! My name is Ana and I have been interning as a Global Brand Marketing Intern this summer for the Hasbro Playskool team. Everything about interning with Hasbro has been an incredible experience! Every day is different. Things that I usually do include completing market research, analyzing competitors, looking for different trends, analyzing social media behaviors, debating different alternatives for bringing an item into market, and many other tasks that I truly enjoy. What I have liked the most about spending my summer at Hasbro, is the fact that I get to do things that I love not only at work, but also after it.
I was born and raised in Venezuela and have lived for two years and a half in Miami. I knew moving to Providence was going to be a very different experience and that is one of the reasons why I did not doubt to come. Providence is a cute tiny city that has a unique vibe. A place full of free souls, artists, and happy people. This Summer has been full of different festivals such as the PVD Fest and Pride weekend that are worth exploring. Since Rhode Island is a very small state, I have been able to go to its beaches and ports: Narraganset and Newport. Newport, RI has incredible mansions, cute streets full of boutiques and restaurants, and a cliff walk!
Living up here, has not only given me the opportunity to get to know a different city, but also to get to know great people that are also interning at Hasbro and explore new places with them! While interning at Hasbro and living in RI, I have traveled to Martha’s Vineyard, a very nice island located nearby in Massachusetts. Some friends and I spent 4th of July there. It has beautiful beaches and nice places to visit such as Edgartown and its lighthouse. I also visited New York for a weekend where I met up with a friend from my childhood. I have also been able hang around Boston and visited Six Flags New England. All have been great places to visit but my favorite destination has been Montreal, Canada – the Paris of North America. We tried delicious food and visited the Old Port of Montreal.
I am glad I was not afraid to leave the surrounding that I was used to for my whole life and move to RI for an internship at Hasbro. I have definitely had a great experience working here!
